Beyond Bitcoin
Crypto and digital assets; the week’s news and events in the rear vision mirror. Keeping it simple and hypothesising about what these events might mean to our favourite assets and to us as humans living into the digital world. Enjoy two blokes chatting one from a fund management viewpoint (Deryck Graham) and one deeper dive tech (Nitin Gaur). Let the chat and banter begin and remember feel free to contribute to future topics and to leave comments.

There is an interesting dichotomy occurring with a substantial sell-off indicating a loss of confidence in the crypto market and the user base growing exponentially. It appears the developed world is derating the crypto space and the developing world is onboarding the crypto solutions. Whatever happens, both Nitin and Deryck agree that the space is still developing and going through growing pains. It may be that regulations will help this process.

This week's discussion is on Digital legacy, which is very much a web3.0 agenda, the question of not just the preserving and passing of generational wealth via constructs such as will and estate planning, but how do we deal with our digital legacy in this increasingly digital world.
Transitioning from Digital legacy to Crypto legacy, which is a passing on wealth in this digital age, what are the challenges and I often times, I wonder if we are creating similar institutions for crypto that exists today or simply extending current institutions as a transitional shift to pure transforming digital agenda!
Listen from our guest, Sree Chintala CEO and founder of Clocr — has envisioned this problem a few years back and committed past few years to addressing it.
And finally agenda for next week:
Consensus 2022 is being held in Austin,- my hometown and I am looking forward to several events and session esp. around “money reimagined’ and “web3.0 and Metaverse”. Which is slated for Day1 and Day 2
With over 15000 people flocking it will be a busy week eating into our weekend. Just like WEF and Davos I will provide a narrative and report post the event, so stay tuned.

Welcome to the realm of the gleefully ill-informed (traditional fund managers) and the general press and media. Today we clarify for these people that Doge coin is not the same as Ethereum, that all tokens are not currencies and that knowledge of Tokenomics is core to understanding crypto-assets. Yes the space is some $1.5T dollars down over the past 12 months, a figure about the same as what the top FAAG stocks lost in the past 5 months, just to give some global perspective. Join us for a passionate view about getting things in perspective.
